Garden envy was something which I never realized that I had until I moved my family up here to Alberta, Canada. The homes in and around us had the most beautiful and functional gardens and after just a few weeks of living here I wanted what they had. Back in the USA we never had much of a garden, usually just an outdoor yard which did very little for us. Unfortunately at that time I had already borrowed money from a lender to do some work in the home, so the garden had to take a back seat. As I was making plans for the second bathroom in the house I spoke with Travis Cadman, a neighbor of ours and a brilliant gardener. After this chat about the outdoor space I decided to take a risk and leave the second bathroom as it was ( a shell of a room ) and instead invest in the garden.

I’d be a fraud if I didn’t tell you that this was a huge risk, although I never told me wife that, yet the whole thing paid off. If you have a garden which needs some work, here is why I’d recommend that you bite the bullet and get it done.

Looking Out

Prior to the investment in the garden it looked awful, weeds, dead plants, trash and discolored grass, hardly something nice to look out upon. Now that we have changed and improved the garden by planting more shrubs and flowers, installing a retaining wall and maintaining the lawn, I look out each morning and it puts a smile on my face, I love that we have our own little slice of nature which looks pretty rather than the mess that it was before. Events

Since the garden has been completed we invite far more people over for events than we ever did before. Although I may not have realized it, the garden gave me great shame which is why none of the neighbors were ever invited over. You may think that renovating the garden isn’t worth it because you never have people over, but I can assure you that this will all change once you decide to have a landscape renovation done.  Decorate your yard with beautiful madison gold rock.

Safe and Fun

Our kids love to play outside and in renovating the garden we have given them a safe and fun space which they can enjoy whenever they like, weather permitting of course. Moments

One of my favorite things to do on a weekend is to grab a cup of coffee and a good book, and sit outside enjoying the silence and the peace of nature. In renovating the garden we have given ourselves our very own slice of nature to enjoy. Sitting in a back yard filled with stone and moss doesn’t quite give you the same feeling of relaxation!
