Green Building means different things to different people. At Taggart Construction it means incorporating building techniques and sustainable materials that ensure our buildings will perform for a long, long time. Starting at the foundation, our building process uses a two part water-proof coating instead of the asphalt water-resistant coating used on most foundations. Our attention to detail continues through the rest of the structure. All exterior trim and siding is back-primed and primed on cut ends before installation. We install a rain screen and drainage plane behind all our siding, ensuring that exterior walls stay dry and our siding lasts and holds finishes longer than conventionally installed siding. We train all our craftsmen in these specialized methods including how to install flashing correctly around windows and doors to drain water down and out. All these techniques mean a home built by Taggart Construction is an investment in quality, the environment, and the future.
