Modern Development & Reclamation Inc. strives to send the least amount of deconstructed building material to the landfill. Buildings are not currently deconstructed; they are demolished and sent in a dumpster to the nearest landfill. Waste material from torn down structures amounts to over 124 million tons per year! Much of that is recyclable material which can be reused and resold to the green building industry as materials for new building projects. We intend to develop a network of like minded individuals to work with and offer services at a discounted rate after carefully assessing the materials that are reusable or recyclable. My team will tear down any and all building structures to reduce the 124 million tons of waste produced by our country each year. Consider that one year of debris is enough to build a wall about 30 feet high and 30 feet thick around the entire coast of the continental United States (4,993 miles). I intend to use these materials and sell those that I am unable to use. Modern Development & Reclamation Inc. is a member of the USGBC and the SBIC (Sustainable Building Industry Council). Modern Development & Reclamation Inc. uses LEED guidelines developed by the USGBC in all deconstruction processes. Modern Development & Reclamation Inc. also works with it's sister company Massey Modern Design/Build to develop new residential properties in a LEED designed fashion for an ultra-modern single family home.
