Founded and managed by the Carlisle family, Carlisle produces the highest quality traditional wide plank floors. Carlisle offers a broad variety of wood floors including old growth heart pines, premier hardwoods, and antique and hand-distressed woods. Carlisle hand makes its floors in two New Hampshire facilities. Selling to homeowners, architects, designers, and builders, Carlisle crafts each floor to be reminiscent of older floors commonly seen in early American architecture up and down the east coast. This forgotten folk art was derived from the times when the entire log was used for crafting a floor and any part of a home and not wasted due to grade or dimension. By sawing “through-and-through” and preserving the entire dimension and heart of the timber, as they did in the early days, you preserve the entire integrity or story of the life of the tree. For over 40 years, Carlisle has hand selected and milled traditional wide plank flooring to create a unique environment and lifestyle for its customers. Carlisle operates wide plank flooring design centers throughout the United States in Atlanta, GA, Chicago, IL, Denver, CO, Washington, D.C, and West Hollywood, CA. In addition to installations in residences, Carlisle’s wide plank floors are also featured in upscale commercial settings including the Mercer Hotel (NYC), The St Regis (CO) and very recently The Park Hyatt (DC).
