Ratings and Reviews For Eco-friendly Paint & Wall Coverings: The Freshaire Choice™ Paint

The Freshaire Choice™ Paint

The Freshaire Choice™ Paint contains no volatile organic compounds — commonly known as VOCs — harmful chemicals that contribute to poor air quality. Although other paints may claim to have no VOCs, what they don't tell you is that these chemicals are put back into the paint once the color is added. Now you can choose from 65 gorgeous colors and feel better knowing that the cleaner air inside your home is good for your family because our paint is certified by the GREENGUARD Environmental Institute (GEI), a well-respected industry-independent, non-profit organization that provides verification for low-emitting products.

posted by: michelle b..  dallas, tx  2010-05-19 I absolutely LOVE this paint!! We're re-doing an older house going room by room as we save up money. So far we've used 7 different Freshaire colors and have another 3 to go. I just finished painting our office this past weekend and LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the results!!! We get compliments on the colors and how warm the house feels. The paint goes on in ONE coat and does not need a primer! I highly reccomend this product to anyone looking to eliminate the harsh paint smell. We've had ZERO complaints with the product. It is well worth the higher cost as you don't need as much.

posted by: Katrina D..  saint louis, mo  2009-07-27 I love this paint. I will not use anything else in my house from now on. It covers in one coat, it doesn't have any odor and the colors are true to the chips. I use the eggshell finish and love the look it gives to my old plaster walls.

posted by: Nathan R..  lanoka harbor, nj  2009-05-28 Will not use again. Had to strain suspended slime from the paint twice and still did not remove all. Apparently the novel coloring system does not dissolve as well as the hype. This happened with three different colors purchased at two different Home Depot's. Emailed through web site contact two times and received no response. No help from the Home Depot and no answer after waiting 20 minutes. The only thing premium about this paint is the aggrivation, additional work and Price

posted by: lori v..  atlanta, ga  2009-04-08 For background, I used to be a professional painter, but had to change careers due to some fairly serious chemical poisoning from standard paints. In renovating our home, I've had to be pretty picky about the products we use, and I was pretty excited initially about the fresh aire paint. When I first brought it home and applied it, it was decent enough, no real smell and no headache. However now, a year later, I'm trying to touch up some of the walls and paint a cabinet to match my kitchen. Every single can I bought last year is rancid. Every can. These were stored in our garage, which I think is a pretty typical storage space. Just opening and checking the cans made me nauseous and gave me a migraine, and I'm pretty ticked off that I'm going to have to go re-buy paint and dispose of some cans which were still 3/4 full. I don't know what is in this product that rots, but this is a real problem. Not only is it going to cost me a lot of money to get touch up paint (it only comes in gallons) but it's incredibly wasteful to have to throw away what should have still been perfectly useable paint.

posted by: Maria W..  tulsa, ok  2008-07-07 I just used Freshaire to paint my son's room, and I LOVE this paint. It is the only paint I plan on using from now on (I have three rooms and a hallway to go). I was able to paint and move my son back in to his room in one day. An added bonus is that the paint dries really quickly, so you could paint two coats (if needed) in one day or paint and move back in! It was easy to use and easy to clean, and , I did not get a headache!

posted by: Judi M..    2008-05-26 Freshaire is fantastic. I was having a hard time finding paint colors I really liked then the customer service rep at Home Depot showed me the new Freshaire colors. I really liked the idea of no VOCs and the color choices were excellent. My family painted four rooms in my condo in one day. No odor and the colors are true to the small paint chip from the store. I usually get bad headached lasting for days after painting. Not at all with Freshaire. Wish I would have known about the free samples and $5 off each can before. Even with the price being a little higher then most paints it was well worth it!

posted by: Shelley C..  fort wayne, in  2008-04-21 I just painted my finished basement with this paint and I love it! I have always used Ralph Lauren because it has great coverage, so I was skeptical about how well Freshaire would cover in one coat, but loved the fact it has no VOCs. Amazingly, I painted the whole basement with just one coat and the color (daffodil) was beautiful. The paint cleans up with just soap and water. I am now going to paint mt bedroom and bathroom with Freshaire paint. The odor was very minimal and disappears completely when the paint is dry. When I walk downstairs I can't even tell we have painted down there. They are offering free 2 oz. paint samples on Freshaire's website and I received mine within 3 days. They also sent a rebate form for $5 off each can up to 20 cans.
