posted by: Jean B.. fallbrook, ca 2008-02-24 I remember this toilet top when I was in Japan, I was a kid and loved it except when the water is cold....handwashing is minimal, especially for a kid. I was wondering if this design would ever get here, it was 19 years ago when I first saw this.

Another water saving tip from my old country is their bathtubs. Their bathing-rooms have a deep bathtub and a washing area separate. You stand/swat/sit (on a stool), in the washing area, use a small bucket-type scooper to rinse off your soap, then only soak in the tub. Your body is washed, so you're clean when you get into the tub. The tub water can be re-heated for other family members after you are done. After everyone is done, you can use the leftover water in the tub for the washing machine--you're putting dirty clothes and soap in the tub, no need for sparkling clean water until the rinse cycle.
