green-irene-logoWell thank goodness someone has seized upon this huge market opportunity! Here are Low Impact Living we’ve been talking for years about the need for a national, high-quality service that provides in-home green auditing and consulting services. And we’re thrilled now that Green Irene is on the scene.

Green Irene was started in New York but they now have over 300 independent green consultants all over the United States. A consultant will come to your home, and advise you on how to save energy, cut your water use, save money and live a healthier life as well. The home makeover costs $99 and takes about 60-90 minutes. At the end of their review of your home they will give you a Green Home Makeover Report and a Family Action Plan– so that you can jump into making positive changes right away.

Green Irene is doubly brilliant because they also offer Green Office Makeovers. We hear from people all the time who want to know how they can go green at the office– and now they can have a Green Irene specialist visit their office and help them make smart changes.

We are contacted all the time here by people who want to become green consultants and they don’t know where to start– well now we can direct them to Green Irene.  The company provides extensive training for its consultants, so that anyone can become a green home expert. I am a new Green Irene consultant and can tell you the support and training is really well done. I email the folks in NYC EVERYDAY with questions and ideas. I get a response within hours not days! They are a company with a conscious and the forward thinking we need to grow small businesses that are eco-minded. Thank You for the article. It makes me feel better about my choice to become a Eco-consultant for once I think I had good timing!

There is a huge market for that because those individuals who are serious about living green will put the money in at first to learn how to cut back for the environment.

Just in case you haven’t heard of this company…I’ve just become a Certified Green Consultant through the Green Business League. There’s also a division for homes, Green Homes League
Great training & support as well.
I’m excited to help promote awareness & green my community!

Hey I live in the Seattle area and I just discovered greentopiadesigns.com
These guys are architects with 20 years experience and have developed a 60 plus item home assessment checklist. I am working my way through the list and seeing how much I can save. They offer home energy assessments for the Puget Sound area but it looks like their checklist and shop green store can work for anyone.

Good article! I looked into Grene Irene before teaming up with OnlyGreen, which offers similar green services and a more diverse product line. Our focus is on education as well as recommendation of green products that are as eco-friendly as possible, based upon our Product Selection Criteria which covers all stages of a product’s life cycle from manufacturing, packaging, distribution, and disposal.
