Pucker Up: Find the Green Love of Your Life

So you’re single, looking for love, and you like to compost, recycle meticulously and ride your bike to the bank. You are a green-bean and you can’t tolerate the thought of dating some cheesy, gas-guzzling, eco-blind loser.  Can I get an Amen?

Well get ready to smooch a green frog and watch him turn into a prince! (Or boys, you know what I mean– your sustainable princess.)  There are several great sources of green dating that will bring joy to your heart!

First, definitely check out Green Singles if you have not.  This is a great online hub of green singles looking for love.  As they say, “It’s where hearts and minds connect.”  This is no Johnny-come-lately; Green Singles has been around since 1985! (But don’t worry– new people have joined since then.) 

Another one to give a look-see at is Green Passions.  They allow you to get very specific about your dating needs: You can find others who share your interest in animal rights, alternative energy, recycling, organic farming and more.  Just think, you could meet your mate and then go dumpster diving on your first date!  Nothing is more romantic than reusing someone else’s left-over goods.

You should also go to your local Green Drinks.  If you don’t know about Green Drinks, it’s a world-wide network of green social gatherings, typically in bars, where eco-minded folks gather to chat and sip.  It’s a great place for networking, meeting new friends, and yes, finding love in the air. I have been to the LA Green Drinks many times and I can tell you there are some fine lookin’ singles in attendance!  Find a Green Drinks group near you here.

Finally, it seems there is even now Green Speed Dating!  Our friend Siel, AKA Green LA Girl, alerted us to a green speed dating event coming up in Long Beach.  Check it out!
