Need some new eco-friendly duds but felling a certain cramp in your wallet these days?  Look no further– two of our favorite green clothing retailers are having major summer sales!

Grace and Cello TankFirst is Greenloop, which is offering 20-70% off between July 11-20.  Greenloop has wonderful designs from folks like Loomstate, Linda Loudermilk, Anna Cohen and many more.  And how sassy is that silk tank at right from Grace and Cello?  Hot-t-t-t-t.

talk politicsWe also love BTC Elements, which is based here in Los Angeles. BTC (standing for “be the change”) works closely with small, eco-minded designers and brings to us many one- of-a-kind pieces. They have some wonderful items on sale right now.  For example the “Talk Politics” jacket at left is a favorite of mine.

Another favorite green retailer of ours is continuing their summer blow-out sale: Nau.  Nau is offering 50% their entire line of sensational styles all summer long.  Nau get shopping!

And don’t forget the best way to save year-round– buy vintage clothing!  You don’t have to buy new to look new and fabulous. Click here to find wonderful vintage clothing resources.

These “sale” prices are ridiculous! I couldn’t afford any of this. Frankly, this is the sort of thing that feeds the belief that responsible consumer is a fad, and for the wealthy. WHO out there is making truly affordable sustainable, responsible clothing?

How is this stuff eco-friendly? I have to take out a loan just to purchase an outfit. How can they charge 45.00 for a t- shirt?

The Eco Fashion concept is relatively new, which means the charge is being led by the higher end product lines. Don’t give up on it yet. If you sew or know some who can sew for you… maybe you should try eco digital printed textiles. Design your own fabric print or photo. select a fabric type and order a little as 10 yards of fabric. Check it out at edptextiles.com

Wow! These are hot. I love the fashions, but especially the shoes. Unfortunately, my pennies don’t stretch far enough even for the sale/discounted prices. It’s nice to browse.

Folks I hear you on the prices– I’m as cost-conscious as they come! That’s why 75% of what I buy is vintage. I get wonderful stuff at ridiculous prices. If you are in California, check out the Aardvarks’ chain of stores….or Buffalo Exchange is another larger vintage chain that covers more states across the country:

You should also check out American Apparel, as they have some organic lines that are really well-priced: http://store.americanapparel.net/

Everyone else please share your fashion deals!
