Low Impact Living on TV!

The past year and a half have been quite a ride here at Low Impact Living - one day we’re working 18 hours writing content or developing a new component of the website, and the next we’re hooked up to a mike and trotted out in front of the hot lights of reality TV!

We’ve been fortunate to have worked on several shows over the past year starting with Living With Ed (formerly on HGTV, now on Discovery’s Planet Green network) and continuing on to Greenovate, but it all comes to a head this month. Folks from Low Impact Living appear on five different shows that will air at least 40 times over the next 30 days (yes, it’s really 40 …) on Planet Green, starting with tonight’s episode of Living With Ed.

While it is a bit frightening to step out from behind the relative anonymity of our website to the confines of your living room, we are proud of the shows that we’ve contributed to and feel that there’s a tip or two in there that might help on your green journey. Greenovate, Episode 7 (Monica). Watch Jessica Jensen as she helps Monica and her fashion-forward tenants next door renovate two bungalows in Venica, CA. If you’ve ever wondered about the challenges you can encounter when adding the latest green elements to an older house, this is the show for you!

Living With Ed, The Model Home of Cheryl Tiegs. Jason Pelletier and Jessica Jensen visit the Cerone family and offer tips on reducing their energy and water bills. Ed and Rachelle pitch in.

Living With Ed, Sharon’s Shangri-La. Jason Pelletier visits the Grundfest household to help solve the mystery of their high water and electricity bills. Little did he know that a dangerous creature laid in wait - a Hollywood comedy writer! A mix of humor and green Sherlock Holmes-ing, it was definitely one of the more entertaining Low Impact Living afternoons.

Living With Ed, Hunt for Green Ideas. Jason Pelletier helps Helen Hunt out with some green advice, and Shayna Prunier visits the Sharp household and helps with some green interior design tips. Whether you’re looking to spruce up your home with practical green products or cook up some biodiesel in the back yard, the Sharp segment is a great case study in how you DON’T have to be a celebrity to do some great eco-friendly projects! Dan’s a friend of (and sometime blogger for) Low Impact Living, and he’s a true DIY eco-guru.

Greenovate, Adam & Suzan. Jason Pelletier helps Adam Davis and his wife Suzan Olson with their green renovation in Venica, CA. Adam and Suzan have done an AMAZING green renovation job on their bungalow in Venice. If you’re looking to make the most of your smaller home, re-doing a bathroom or kitchen, or looking at using skylights to light your house with sunlight, check out this episode!
